Ely City v SUFC

On Tuesday 29th January 2013, following two postponements due to bad winter weather, Spalding United were finally able to play their Carlsberg FA Vase 4th Round tie at Ely City. In a thrilling encounter at The Unwin Ground in Cambridgeshire the Tulips overcame an early setback to triumph 2-1 thanks largely to a brace from debutant striker and former Stamford Town star, Gary King. The victory sees the team progress to a glamorous 5th Round tie at home to Guernsey (where we note former Southampton legend, Matt Le Tissier, is president) on Saturday 9th February and another step nearer a dream FA Vase Final date at Wembley on Saturday 4th May!…
