On Saturday 16th February 2013, Spalding United got back to winning ways after consecutive defeats at home to Holbeach United and Guernsey FC when they beat Cogenhoe United 3-1 in some style in the Quarter-Final of the UCL Knockout Cup. Striker, Tony Battersby finally broke his duck after 14 games up-front for the Tulips and looked a threat all afternoon in the glorious winter sunshine.
