SUFC v Holbeach United

On the evening of Tuesday 5th February 2013, Spalding United hosted Holbeach United in the Semi-Final of the Lincolnshire FA Senior Trophy. In what was billed as a potentially defining week of the season for the home side, the Tulips were unable to exact revenge on the Tigers for the 2-1 league defeat suffered on Boxing Day at Carter’s Park, Holbeach and finally succumbed 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out after a thrilling 2-2 draw in normal time. So it’s Holbeach who progress to defend the trophy they won last season but the Tulips cannot dwell on the bitterness of the defeat as they have a mouthwatering 5th Round FA Vase tie at home to Guernsey to contend with on Saturday 9th February…
